Curren$y brings in the New Year with a Dope new Mixtape. I hear a lot of Rappers say “No Days Off” and “Im always working” but Spitta here actually continuously puts of consistently dope material. I guess that’s the difference in Talking the Talk, and Walking the Walk….or those that say they can roll, and those who just cops that dutch and goes to work (for all you J.E.T.S. out there haha).
J.E.T.S. x FlightSchool

Words From the Artists:
We appreciate the look on the site & you spreading the word on us in your area. But as an overview our mixtape ‘Regular Ass Niggas’ was spawned from the thought that we’re just regular guys that happen to have an above average rap ability. On our other projects we solely focused on our rap ability & overall song making skills, so on R.A.N we wanted to touch on regular topics and just relate to our audience song wise. Also we always thought it was funny that people thought of us as famous and actually wanted our autographs, so we wanted to kinda tell people we’re just like you. We do regular nigga shit and have the same problems as other people have. And even if we made a million dollars we’d stay the same as we are now. If i had to pick a song that stands out most it would be ‘Time of Day’ because it’s seriously what every man has been through before. Even if it’s not a girl latching to your success. It could be a girl you thought was all that at one point and she turned you down, but then when you realize she ain’t shit that’s when she wants you. In 2011 we don’t really have any solid projects lined up because we wanna focus on touring and knocking out music videos, but we do plan on re-launching our album ‘Sex And Pencil Shavings’ in the summer. That album is available on iTunes now

Words from the Artists:
The collaborations between rapper Kilo G’z and singer Ty Jackson becomes more powerful with each song. The two mixtapes were joined together after the release of “Dreaming Nightmares” which was debuted Halloween 2010. “City of Bagdad” was a mixtape that Kilo G’z himself had made solo along with a couple other features. The Intro for “City Of Bagdad” speaks for itself. Within that song you could tell where the rapper Kilo G’z surroundings are like, and the struggle he faces on the daily basis. The song that is recognized is track #2 Speaking With G’z. Kilo G’z made his point across clearly, that he’s a true spitter and not just one that know’s how to rhyme words. Ty Jackson is an artist who is truly blessed with the talent to sing, who at every given chance uses it to let the world know how truly talented he is.
Dreaming Nightmares was a mixtape put together by Kilo G’z and Ty Jackson after the successful release of “City of Bagdad“. The two noticed with their different styles combined together would be more than amazing. Along with that they decided to bring something new to the table. Combining the original song with club songs made by DJ L-Spiz & Smacks to give it a different style. The mixtape provided music in all areas to appeal different types of crowds. The track that is recognized the most off of that mix tape was No Lights, which gives a new outlook to I Like by Jeremiah.
The two mixtapes combined gives this new project swag like no other. People immediately appealed to it and began to tune in and listen. Until the next mixture, listeners please stay tuned in and follow the moves that Kilo G’z and Ty Jackson are making.

Another successful collaboration between Cookin Soul x Don Cannon. This time they cover Nas’ The Lost Tapes and it comes out sounding like pure MAgic. This is what our friends over at iLLVibes had to say about the tape:
Yeah, no one knows for sure – okay, maybe a few executives here and there – when exactly Nas will drop the coveted sequel to his classic The Lost Tapes. There was some announcement made, but who knows exactly if that holds any weight? In any case, Cookin’ Soul has linked up with Don Cannon to display their imagination and creativity in remixing several Nasir Jones tracks as a way to bring out that gritty Nas sound and to provide us with something unique that is reminiscent of a Lost-Tapes feeling.

Dope new album by the Gorrilaz made using an iPad and additional instruments. That’s that shit, technology at its finest.
This is what they had to say:
The music was recorded during spare time while on the road. “I did it because there’s a lot of time that you just spend staring at walls essentially. And it was a fantastic way of doing it” says Damon Albarn. “I found working in the day, whether it’s in the hotel or in the venue, it was a brilliant way of keeping myself well.” Adding that the collection is “..like a diary, I literally wrote everything on the day in each place and there’s a strange sort of sound of America and its musical traditions that comes through. It feels like a journey through America.”
